Job Title: Pharmacy Trainee
Job Summary
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy staff with daily tasks, gain practical experience, and develop skills to become a registered pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Pharmacists and Pharmacy Staff:
- Assist with dispensing medication, processing prescriptions, and handling patient inquiries.
- Support pharmacists with clinical services, such as medication therapy management and health screenings.
- Maintain patient records, update profiles, and ensure confidentiality.
Operational Tasks:
- Manage inventory, stock shelves, and perform cycle counts.
- Process and package medication for dispensing.
- Clean and maintain equipment, work areas, and patient waiting areas.
Patient Care:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to patient inquiries and concerns.
- Assist patients with medication-related questions and concerns.
- Support pharmacists with patient counseling and education.
Administrative Tasks:
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage fax communications.
- Process payments, manage cash handling, and reconcile transactions.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Learning and Development:
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to develop pharmacy skills and knowledge.
- Complete assignments, projects, and rotations to gain practical experience.
- Receive feedback, guidance, and mentorship from experienced pharmacists and pharmacy staff.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations, pharmacology, and patient care.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software, equipment, and technology.
Certifications
- BSC biochemistry, microbiology
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or Certified Clinical Pharmacy Technician (CCPhT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Environment:
- Retail pharmacy
- Fast-paced and dynamic environment
- May require occasional overtime or weekend shifts
Performance Metrics:
- Patient satisfaction and feedback

- Completion of training programs and assignments
Work Schedule
- 4 days a week, rotation shifts
- Morning shifts 8am to 8pm
- Evening shift 8pm to 8am
- Resumption: Immediately.
