Job Title: Treasury & Investment Officer
Responsibilities
- Liaise with other financial institutions on behalf of the organization with respect to treasury and investment operations.
- Management of banking relationship with all bankers and ensure the maintenance of updated information on all bank accounts.
- Maintain (Follow-up and update) investment register for short- and long-term investments and attend to all requests promptly.
- Manage and track investment portfolio assets and regularly analyse performance to make recommendations to the Management through the CFO.
- Manage and track all investment portfolio reported balances supporting documents.
- Conduct investment analysis and appraisal of investment portfolio.
- Maximize return on invested funds by identification and management of investment opportunities, maintaining cordial relationships with the investment community, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide monthly investment performance reports to Executive Management.
- Prepare the Board Investment Report.
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analysing results; identifying strengths and critical areas, initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.
- Preparation of Treasury Daily report i.e. Scheduling of Balances report summary (Operational and Non-Operational).
- Responsible for payment posting, by booking the payment invoice then post the payment between bank and respective ledger account, for the life business.
- Responsible for journal posting, by debiting and crediting respective ledger account.
- Responsible for monitoring and posting of petty cash into the ledger, for the head office and branches.
- Responsible for maintaining a schedule for cash advance and updating same with retirements from staff.
- With the Supervision and Coordination of the HOF.
- Review and track investment portfolio updates and
- Raise the Journals and Post daily the investment accounts changes.
- Posting of investment returns.
- Maintain the fixed assets register and prepare the monthly month-end depreciation journals for posting.
- Maintain prepayments and accruals schedules and prepare the monthly journals for posting.
- Responsible for reconciling all transactions from the Investment placement accounts to the Company’s records monthly.
- Responsible for reviewing bank reconciliation items on Investment placement accounts to ensure that all outstanding transactions (both debits and credits) are correctly posted into the general ledger.
- Responsible for reviewing Investment placement accounts Bank reconciliation report and Bank GL balances to ensure that ALL outstanding items are cleared promptly.
- Validate all Activities during external audit exercise.
- Provide Bank Statements for Investment Banks accounts.
- NAICOM Mid-month Harmonization reports; 14th of every month.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of Three (3) years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in an insurance firm.
- A professional qualification of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL.
Salary
