Job Title: Year 1 Teacher
Job Summary
- We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and skilled Year 1 Teacher to join our primary school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote the academic, social, and emotional development of our Year 1 students.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the early years curriculum, a creative approach to teaching, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment to encourage student engagement and learning.
- Assess and monitor the progress of students, providing feedback to both students and parents.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians about students’ progress and well-being.
- Create and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment that supports students’ emotional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning across the year group.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in primary education and incorporate new teaching strategies and technologies into the classroom.
- Ensure student well-being and manage behavior in accordance with school policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a primary school, preferably with Year 1 or early years students.
- Strong knowledge of the Year 1 curriculum and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to the academic and personal development of young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and parents.
- A good understanding of child safeguarding and welfare practices.
- Proficiency with classroom technology and tools.
