Job Title: Dispatch Man

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop delivery or driving routes using mapping software along with weather and traffic information. 
• Handle and promptly manage delivery of products, packages and materials etc from departments and personnel.
• Monitor the progress of deliveries, shipments and ensuring that they adhere to delivery schedules and deadlines
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of deliveries, and other relevant information
• Ensure timely delivery of products, packages, and materials to customers and service providers.
• Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries 
• Provide solutions for drop-off and pickup problems 
• Relaying information and other messages to and from work crews, departments and personnel
• Keeping and organizing work requests, internal and external customers’ requests.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a minimum of OND or HND certificate is required. 
• At least 8 years’ experience working as a Dispatcher in the logistics or transportation industry, with knowledge of dispatching software and systems
• Proven experience as a dispatcher or relevant position is required
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• Must be able to work well under pressure.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards, and the ability to ensure compliance
• Good computer skills, with experience using Microsoft Office suite, dispatching software, and GPS tracking systems
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check
• Ability to remain calm and deliver clear instructions under pressure
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel.
