Job Title: Marine Superintendent

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of marine vessels, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
• Manage marine crew, coordinate logistics, and maintain vessel performance
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
• Manage crew scheduling and ensure adequate manning levels
• Ensure vessels are compliant with international maritime laws and company standards
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions 
• Monitor vessel performance and maintenance schedules 
• Review maintenance reports and recommend improvements
• Liaise with engineering teams for repairs and upgrades 
• Assist in budgeting and cost management for marine operations
• Collaborate with port authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
• Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Coordinate logistics for vessel movements and port calls 
• Communicate with clients regarding operational issues and performance
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance and safety metrics.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related field is required.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in marine operations, preferably in a supervisory role
• Relevant certifications (e.g STCW, GMDSS) are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations and safety standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in marine management software and MS Office Suite.
• Must have problem-solving skills and leadership skills 
• Must be ready to work under pressure
• Must be analytical and have an eye for detail.
