Job Title: Consultant – Development of Organizational Theory of Change (ToC)
Job Description
- To lead the process of co-creating GREENCODE’s Theory of Change, aligning it with the organization’s mission, contextual realities, and desired long-term outcomes.
- The ToC will provide a visual and narrative representation of how GREENCODE’s activities contribute to social change, improved resilience, and community empowerment.
- Conduct a desk review of GREENCODE’s strategic documents, project reports, and external assessments
- Facilitate participatory workshops and stakeholder consultations (staff, board, partners)
- Lead discussions to define long-term impact, intermediate outcomes, assumptions, risks, and pathways of change
- Develop a ToC map / diagram and an accompanying narrative document
- Validate the ToC with key stakeholders and finalize the outputs
Key Deliverables
- Inception Report – with methodology, tools, and workplan
- Facilitation of Stakeholder Workshops (in-person or virtual)
- Draft Theory of Change Map and Narrative
- Validation Session and Feedback Integration
- Final Theory of Change (Visual and Narrative Documents) in editable and PDF formats
Expected Timeline:
15 working days, broken down as follows:
- Days 1–3: Desk review and planning
- Days 4–6: Stakeholder consultations and ToC workshop
- Days 7–10: Drafting of ToC map and narrative
- Days 11–13: Validation and revisions
- Days 14-15: Final submission of deliverables
Requirements
- Advanced degree in International Development, Strategic Planning, Social Sciences, or related fields
- At least 5 years of experience in facilitating Theory of Change development or strategic planning processes
- Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders and synthesize complex information
- Familiarity with participatory approaches and results-based management frameworks
- Strong writing and visual presentation skills
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear pathways of change
- Knowledge of the Northeast Nigeria context is an advantage
- Fluency in English and good interpersonal skills.
