Job Title: Steam Turbines DCS Operator
Job Summary
- The Steam Turbines DCS Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling steam turbine operations via the Distributed Control System (DCS).
- The role ensures stable and safe turbine operation, load management, efficiency optimization, and compliance with standard operating and safety procedures
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate turbine systems through the DCS panel.
- Maintain turbine load, speed, pressure, and temperature parameters.
- Acknowledge and respond to alarms, trips, and deviations.
- Coordinate with field operators during start-up, shutdown, and maintenance.
- Record performance data, trends, and log shift activities.
- Adjust steam flow and valve settings to match load demand
- Ensure synchronization and load sharing with the grid or internal systems.
- Comply with all SOPs, LOTO, and EHS procedures.
- Communicate with control room, shift engineer, and electrical teams as needed.
- Participate in tuning and reliability testing activities.
Educational Qualification and Work Experience
- Diploma or HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Power Plant Technology
- Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Certification in Turbine Operations or DCS Control preferred).
- 5 – 10 years in steam turbine DCS operation in cogeneration or thermal plants.
