Job Title: Sugarcane Pathologist
Job Summary
- A sugarcane pathologist is responsible for studying the health of sugarcane, analysing plant tissue samples, conducting laboratory tests, and collaborating with other team members to diagnose diseases and develop appropriate treatment plans
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and Observe plant life cycles to identify and compare healthy functions and abnormalities in growth.
- Studying diseases and infections in plants, including bacterial, viral and fungal infections.
- Collecting and evaluating plant samples with microscopy, digital photography and other technical and laboratory equipment.
- Developing methods of disease prevention and treatment for sugarcane varieties within the estate.
Educational Qualification and Work Experience
- Must possess an MSc. in Sugarcane Pathology.
- Professional Certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5-10 years as a Pathologist.
