Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Position Summary
- The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for supporting the effective tracking of project activities, outputs, outcomes, and impacts in the state.
- This role will oversee the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans, tools, and systems to ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- The officer will work closely with GPD MEAL Manager, Program Teams, and Community Structures on data management and support evidence-based decision-making of all project in the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and databases in line with donor and organizational requirements.
- Conduct routine data collection, verification, and analysis to track progress against targets.
- Facilitate field monitoring visits, spot checks, and data quality assessments.
- Support baseline studies, midline reviews, and endline evaluations.
- Prepare and submit timely monitoring and evaluation reports, success stories, and learning briefs.
- Support in training and mentoring project staff on data collection methodologies and reporting.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data confidentiality and integrity.
- Collaborate with program teams to incorporate lessons learned into program designs and delivery.
- Support GPD resource mobilization effort
- Carry out other task that may be assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc / HND in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within an NGO or community development setting.
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies, logical frameworks, and data collection techniques (qualitative and quantitative).
- Experience with data management and analysis software such as Excel, Kobo, Toolbox, ODK, or SPSS.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with local languages and the socio-cultural context in the project area is an added advantage
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of M&E frameworks and tools (quantitative and qualitative).
- Ability to analyze data using tools such as Excel, Kobo Toolbox, ODK, or SPSS.
- Excellent skills in preparing clear, concise reports, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Skilled at conducting site visits, routine checks, and verifying data quality in diverse community settings.
- Ability to clearly present data findings and engage effectively with project teams, partners, and community members.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing workload, and meeting deadlines under minimal supervision.
