Summary of the Position:
Manages the day-to-day accounting processes of AP Voucher Processing and posting, PO Voucher processing and posting, vendor payment processing, posting of cash disbursements and maintaining reconciliations of all bank accounts. Provides guidance to accounts payable staff. Responsible for maintaining a shared and dedicated mailbox.
Essential functions:
- Reviews all AP and PO Vouchers prepared by Accounts Payable staff
- Posts AP vouchers on a weekly basis
- Posts PO Vouchers on a weekly basis
- Ensures vendor payments are configured appropriately in the bank
- Responsible for maintaining reconciliations of cash accounts
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent and demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to influence, motivate and work well with others.
- Develops and recommends solutions to management to meet needs of the company.
Position Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field required.
- Preferred Job-related Experience: At least five (5) years of experience with managing an Accounts Payable process. Prior work in a non-governmental organization (NGO) or clinical research organization (CRO) preferred, but not required.
Physical Expectations:
- Typical office environment.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 5-15 lbs.
Travel Requirements:
- Expected travel time is less than 10% for this position.
