Responsibilities

• Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
• Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
• Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and other documents.
• Preparation of performance reports
• Preparation of scope and quantities for subcontracted works
• Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
• Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
• Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
• Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
• Coordination and harmonization of valuated works with the client’s representatives
• Supervision and training of local QS personnel

Qualifications, Desired Skills and Experience

• Qualified Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor
• 10 years of professional experience in a similar senior position
• Construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous
• Sound knowledge of construction with references to large-scale projects (infrastructure)
• Ability to organize, plan, and strategize
• Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Previous experience in emerging / African markets will be a plus
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
