President Bola Tinubu confirmed on Monday that the Student Loan Scheme he authorized on June 12, 2023, will be implemented in January 2024. He also assured that occurrences of strikes by academic staff unions in tertiary institutions would be eliminated.
“When the 29th session of the annual Nigeria Economic Summit opened at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, I hope to see the commencement of the new Student Loan Programme by January 2024. We are declaring an end to strikes for the sake of our children and students,” stated Tinubu.
