Job Title: Business Development Manager
Activities
- Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement strategic sales plans that drive growth in the pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products segment.
- Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify industry trends, new opportunities, and potential partnerships, ensuring our offerings remain competitive.
- Lead Generation & Business Expansion: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by building a robust pipeline of pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and clients within the sector.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in pharmaceutical companies, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer loyalty.
- Product Expertise: Provide expert knowledge and guidance on our pharmaceutical materials, helping clients understand how our products meet their specific needs.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations on sales contracts, terms, and pricing, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that maximize profitability and align with company goals.
- Sales Target Achievement: Meet and exceed sales targets by executing efficient sales strategies, tracking progress, and adapting tactics to market conditions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance, to ensure alignment between product offerings and market demands.
- Customer Support: Offer post-sale support to clients, ensuring product satisfaction and maintaining strong business relationships.
- Reporting & Performance Metrics: Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and client feedback to senior management, providing insights for continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree: In Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree will be an added advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the pharmaceutical industry, specifically focusing on APIs, excipients, and raw materials.
- Proven Sales Record: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets, particularly in pharmaceutical material sales.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, regulatory requirements, and the competitive landscape.
- Communication & Negotiation Skills: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills to build trust with key stakeholders and close deals.
- Market Acumen: Ability to assess market needs and adjust strategies to align with industry trends and client demands.
- Networking & Relationship Building:Established network of contacts within the pharmaceutical sector and a proven ability to develop strong, lasting relationships with clients.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite to track sales performance and manage client interactions.
- Problem-solving Abilities: Proactive in identifying challenges and opportunities and providing innovative solutions to meet client needs and drive business growth.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients, attend industry conferences, and expand market presence.
