Job Title: Chinese Cook
Responsibilities
- Ingredient Preparation: Selecting, cutting, marinating, and preparing fresh ingredients like vegetables, meat, and seafood according to traditional Chinese techniques.
- Cooking Techniques: Mastering various Chinese cooking techniques, such as stir-frying, steaming, deep-frying, braising, and roasting.
- Menu Planning: Assisting in planning and preparing authentic Chinese menus that cater to customer preferences and dietary requirements.
- Use of Spices and Sauces: Balancing the use of Chinese spices, herbs, and sauces like soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil to enhance flavor.
- Plating and Presentation: Ensuring each dish is plated aesthetically, following Chinese presentation standards.
- Maintaining Hygiene: Keeping the kitchen clean, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Team Coordination: Collaborating with kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring ingredients and supplies, and ensuring ingredients are stocked, fresh, and properly stored.
- Quality Control: Ensuring all dishes meet quality standards before serving to customers.
- Adaptability to Modern Trends: Incorporating new trends and modern variations to appeal to a diverse audience while preserving authenticity.
