Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Description

  • This role is vital to the efficient management of the spa’s human resources.
  • The HR Officer will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting staff, ensuring a high-performing team that aligns with the spa’s mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Draft job descriptions and post vacancies on appropriate platforms.
  • Screen applications, coordinate interviews, and manage the selection process.
  • Conduct employee orientation and onboarding to familiarize new hires with company policies and culture.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolution.
  • Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Organize team-building activities and wellness programs to promote employee satisfaction.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate internal or external training sessions.
  • Ensure staff certifications and licenses are up to date where applicable.
  • Maintain a comprehensive training schedule and track employee progress.

Performance Management:

  • Support managers in implementing performance appraisals and feedback sessions.
  • Monitor employee performance and recommend improvement plans when necessary.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding contributions to encourage motivation.

Compliance and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, leave, and attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health, and safety standards.
  • Update and enforce company policies as required.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Collaborate with the finance department to process payroll accurately.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave entitlements.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.

HR Strategy and Reporting:

  • Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the spa’s objectives.
  • Generate HR reports and metrics for management review.
  • Continuously assess and improve HR processes and policies.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality or wellness industry.

Key Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
