Job Title: Human Resources Officer
Description
- This role is vital to the efficient management of the spa’s human resources.
- The HR Officer will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training, and supporting staff, ensuring a high-performing team that aligns with the spa’s mission and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Draft job descriptions and post vacancies on appropriate platforms.
- Screen applications, coordinate interviews, and manage the selection process.
- Conduct employee orientation and onboarding to familiarize new hires with company policies and culture.
Employee Relations:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, providing guidance and resolution.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Organize team-building activities and wellness programs to promote employee satisfaction.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate internal or external training sessions.
- Ensure staff certifications and licenses are up to date where applicable.
- Maintain a comprehensive training schedule and track employee progress.
Performance Management:
- Support managers in implementing performance appraisals and feedback sessions.
- Monitor employee performance and recommend improvement plans when necessary.
- Recognize and reward outstanding contributions to encourage motivation.
Compliance and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate employee records, including contracts, leave, and attendance.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, health, and safety standards.
- Update and enforce company policies as required.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Collaborate with the finance department to process payroll accurately.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave entitlements.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
HR Strategy and Reporting:
- Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the spa’s objectives.
- Generate HR reports and metrics for management review.
- Continuously assess and improve HR processes and policies.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in the hospitality or wellness industry.
Key Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
