Job Title: Education Program Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Program Manager is responsible for the overall implementation, management, and reporting of the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) funded program.
  • This role ensures that program objectives are met efficiently and effectively while adhering to ECW standards and guidelines.
  • The Program Manager will lead the project team, coordinate activities across partners, and ensure high-quality program delivery that meets the needs of vulnerable populations in the targeted regions.

Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of program activities to achieve the objectives outlined in the program document.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with consortium partners to ensure a collaborative and integrated approach to program implementation.

Management and Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the project team, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of team effectiveness.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategic direction.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration and innovation.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all program activities comply with ECW standards, guidelines, and relevant donor requirements.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program impact and effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular field visits to oversee program activities and ensure quality delivery.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit timely program reports to donors and stakeholders, detailing progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of program activities, including budgets, reports, and evaluation findings.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and management to inform program decision-making and reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, community organizations, and beneficiaries.
  • Represent the organization at relevant meetings, conferences, and forums, advocating for the program and its objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for partnership and resource mobilization.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges to program implementation and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor the external environment for changes that may impact program delivery and adapt strategies accordingly.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify training needs among staff and partners, and coordinate capacity-building initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a learning environment by promoting best practices and lessons learned from program implementation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in education or humanitarian sectors.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successful project delivery on time and within budget.

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills to assess program data, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex challenges.

Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills to convey information effectively in meetings and reports.

Cultural Sensitivity:

  • Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences and community dynamics, particularly in a multi-cultural context.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity within program activities.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
