Job Title: Sustainability Specialist
Job Summary:
The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of effective sustainability strategies in Ibese Plant, focusing on reducing environmental impact and promoting social responsibility. This role involves conducting assessments, providing recommendations, and engaging with various stakeholders to foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of sustainability programs and initiatives aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics, including waste reduction, energy consumption, and carbon emissions.
- Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends and best practices, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives and gather input.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate employees and stakeholders about sustainability practices and policies.
- Support the communication of sustainability achievements and initiatives to external audiences through reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into business operations and decision-making.
- Assist with managing relationships with regulatory bodies and environmental agencies.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management related to sustainability efforts.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related fields. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Work Experience
- 15 – 18 years of experience in sustainability, environmental management, or related fields.
- Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance standards.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
- Passionate about sustainability and driven to make a positive impact.
