Job Title: STEM Operations and Program Manager
Position Overview
- The STEM Operations and Program Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and management of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education programs for students in grades 1-12. This role involves coordinating program delivery, ensuring curriculum alignment with educational standards, and managing the day-to-day operations of STEM classrooms.
- The ideal candidate will have a passion for STEM education, experience in program management, and a strong ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and stakeholders to enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management:
- Oversee the planning, development, and execution of STEM programs for students in grades 1-12.
- Ensure the curriculum is engaging, relevant, and aligned with state and national educational standards.
- Manage schedules, budgets, resources, and logistics for STEM classroom delivery.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of STEM programs through assessments, feedback, and performance data.
STEM Curriculum Support:
- Collaborate with curriculum developers and instructional designers to create and refine STEM curriculum and lesson plans.
- Provide teachers with resources, tools, and professional development to deliver high-quality STEM instruction.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in STEM education to inform program development.
Teacher Support and Training:
- Coordinate and deliver ongoing training and support for educators on STEM teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Facilitate professional development workshops, webinars, and instructional sessions focused on STEM best practices.
- Foster a community of STEM educators to share ideas, resources, and insights.
Student Engagement and Experience:
- Promote and support student-centered STEM learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Implement STEM enrichment programs, such as after-school clubs, competitions, and field trips.
- Develop strategies to increase student participation and interest in STEM subjects.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact between school leadership, teachers, and external partners (e.g., educational organizations, community stakeholders).
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, facilities, and administration) to ensure smooth operation and delivery of STEM programs.
- Communicate program goals, successes, and challenges to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and meetings.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and assess the performance of STEM programs through qualitative and quantitative data.
- Provide regular progress reports on program outcomes, student achievement, and operational effectiveness.
- Use data to drive continuous improvement in program delivery and student engagement.
Logistics and Operations:
- Manage STEM classroom operations, including classroom setup, materials procurement, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed during STEM activities and experiments.
- Organize and oversee STEM-related events, such as science fairs, hackathons, or innovation challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Education, Education Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in education program management or STEM education, with experience in grades 1-12.
- Strong understanding of STEM curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and educational technology.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as (Jira, Click up)
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and the ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Passion for STEM education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students.
Preferred:
- Experience with STEM competitions, robotics programs, coding, or other tech-focused learning initiatives.
- Knowledge of grant writing or fundraising for educational programs.
- Familiarity with integrating technology into the classroom and online learning platforms.
Salary
N300,000 – N350,000 monthly.
