Job Title: Catering Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Catering Manager with solid Catering experience to join our restaurant team.

Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan, organize, and oversee catering services for private events, corporate functions, weddings, and parties.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budgets.

Menu Development:

  • Work with the chef and kitchen staff to design customized menus for events.
  • Ensure menus are creative, cost-effective, and aligned with client expectations.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage catering staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen support.
  • Schedule staff for catering events and ensure proper delegation of duties.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

  • Prepare cost estimates and negotiate pricing with clients.
  • Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs to maximize profitability.

Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure all catering equipment, supplies, and materials are prepared and transported to event venues.
  • Supervise event setup, service, and breakdown, ensuring smooth operations.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service during events.
  • Address any issues or client concerns promptly and professionally.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to alcohol service laws and standards in the bar.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of ingredients, beverages, and other essentials.
  • Manage vendor relationships to secure favorable terms and quality products.

Sales and Marketing:

  • Promote catering services to potential clients through marketing campaigns and networking.
  • Develop sales strategies to increase catering bookings.

Reporting and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of events, budgets, and client details.
  • Prepare regular reports on catering performance and profitability.

Skills and Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in catering, event management, or hospitality.
  • Proven track record of managing successful catering operations in a restaurant or bar setting.

  • Ability to plan and execute events efficiently, ensuring client satisfaction.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.

Customer Service:

  • Commitment to providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for clients.

Problem-Solving:

  • Quick thinking and decision-making abilities to handle challenges during events.

Organizational Skills:

  • Strong multitasking abilities to manage multiple events and deadlines.

Financial Management:

  • Budgeting and cost control expertise to ensure profitability.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in event management software and restaurant POS systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Physical stamina to oversee on-site catering activities.

Remuneration

  • Salary: N100,000 – N150,000 Monthly.
  • Accommodation will be provided.
