Job Title: Field Engineer (Maritime Industry)

Job Summary

  • The Field Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, ensuring the effective installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime equipment and systems.
  • This role requires expertise in maritime engineering, troubleshooting, and client-facing services to ensure the safe and efficient operation of vessels and offshore platforms.
  • The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in the maritime industry and be capable of working in challenging environments with a focus on operational excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site engineering support for maritime projects, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to vessels, machinery, and maritime systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on various maritime equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their technical needs and provide efficient solutions.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of fieldwork and deliverables.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on inspections, maintenance activities, and any incidents or issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to provide continuous improvement and implement solutions to enhance system performance and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, maritime regulations, and environmental standards during all operations.
  • Provide technical training and support to crew members and other operational staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Field Engineer, with specific experience in the maritime industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maritime systems, vessels, and offshore platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining maritime equipment.
  • Ability to work in challenging offshore and on-site environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and standards.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work in remote locations as required.

Salary

  • N250,000 – N350,000 / month.
  • Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.
