Job Description

• An English teacher is responsible for instructing students in the English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and grammar, by creating lesson plans, delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, assigning and grading assignments, and providing feedback to help students improve their language proficiency and literacy skills;they also often teach literature and focus on developing students’ communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating various teaching methods to engage students at different learning levels.

Classroom instruction:

• Deliver lessons on grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing mechanics, and literature, utilizing diverse instructional strategies like group work, presentations, and discussions.

Assessment and feedback:

• Grade assignments, essays, and tests, providing constructive feedback to students to help them improve their understanding and skills.

Student engagement:

• Create a positive learning environment that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.

Communication with parents:

• Regularly inform parents about student progress, concerns, and areas for improvement.

Classroom management:

• Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom environment, managing student behavior effectively.

Adapting to diverse learners:

• Cater to the needs of students with different learning styles and abilities, providing appropriate accommodations when necessary.

Professional development:

• Stay updated on current trends in English language teaching, attending workshops and conferences to enhance teaching practices.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 per month.
