Job Title: Truck & Car Mechanic
Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck & Car Mechanic to handle the diagnosis, repair, servicing, and preventive maintenance of a diverse fleet, including Sino, Hyundai, and Howo trucks, as well as Toyota 4Runner and Highlander cars.
- The ideal candidate must be technically proficient in diesel and petrol engine repairs, electrical systems, braking systems, and transmission maintenance.
- This role requires a hands-on professional who can troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and ensure maximum fleet uptime and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Inspection & Diagnostics:
- Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting on trucks and cars.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools.
- Ensure timely repairs to minimize vehicle downtime.
Repair & Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel and petrol engines, transmission systems, braking systems, and electrical components.
- Ensure all vehicles are in optimal working condition and meet safety standards.
- Recommend and implement best practices for vehicle maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
Breakdown & Emergency Repairs:
- Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and execute on-site or workshop repairs.
- Ensure quick turnaround time to keep vehicles operational with minimal delays.
Workshop Operations & Spare Parts Management:
- Manage tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in sourcing high-quality spare parts and optimizing stock levels.
- Maintain proper documentation of all repairs and servicing activities.
Compliance & Safety Standards:
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Adhere to company policies and government transport regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Certificate HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in fleet maintenance or workshop management.
- Expertise in maintaining Sino, Hyundai, and Howo trucks, as well as Toyota 4Runner and Highlander cars.
- Proficiency in diesel and petrol engine repairs, electrical troubleshooting, braking systems, and transmission maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic codes.
- Experience using modern diagnostic tools and ECU scanning software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 / Month.
