Job Title: Maintenance Manager – Mechanical

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager – Mechanical to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment within our poultry/farm operations in Ibadan.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, farm equipment, and industrial machinery, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Implement Maintenance Strategies – Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for farm machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Equipment Inspection & Repairs – Monitor and maintain mechanical systems, including feed processing machines, ventilation systems, water supply equipment, and generators.
  • Breakdown Management – Respond promptly to equipment failures, diagnose faults, and coordinate necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Spare Parts & Inventory Control – Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and manage inventory efficiently to reduce delays.
  • Team Leadership & Supervision – Lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Compliance & Safety – Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities comply with industry standards, company policies, and safety regulations.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management – Work with external service providers for specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance projects.
  • Energy & Cost Optimization – Implement strategies to reduce maintenance costs and improve energy efficiency across farm operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in poultry or farm operations.
  • Strong knowledge of farm machinery, HVAC systems, generators, water pumps, and automated feeding systems.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  • Hands-on experience in poultry processing plants, feed mills, hatcheries, or large-scale farming operations.
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems is an added advantage.
  • Membership of NSE, COREN is a MUST.

Salary
N300,000 – N400,000 / month.
