Job Title: Corporate Lawyer

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented corporate Lawyer to join our legal team. 
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing legal documents, drafting and reviewing contracts, representing the company in legal matters, and managing relationships with contractors and external legal entities.
  • Please note that this is not a full-time job, but that of a contractor who would be on the company’s retainership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal regulations.
  • Provide legal counsel to the company on business transactions, contractual obligations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolution processes.
  • Manage and oversee the company’s legal relationships with contractors, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Ensure that the company operates in accordance with applicable corporate laws and industry regulations.
  • Handle relevant CAC documentation, and ensure tax compliance
  • Assist in corporate governance matters, including board meetings, compliance policies, and legal risk assessments.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and external legal counsel as needed.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal best practices affecting the company’s operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and a valid license to practice law in Nigeria
  • Proven experience as a Corporate Lawyer or in a similar legal role
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience working in a corporate or in-house legal environment is preferred.

Salary
N150,000 – N200,000 Monthly.
