Job Title: Communications Officer

  • The Communications Officer is responsible for managing internal and external communications to enhance the bank’s brand image, drive engagement, and ensure effective dissemination of key messages. 
  • This role involves developing and executing communication strategies, content creation, and media relations to support the bank’s objectives.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop and create high-quality content for internal and external communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, and social media updates.
  • Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to promote positive coverage of the bank. Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews or media events as necessary.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms and maintain the bank’s brand voice and identity.
  • Campaign Support: Assist in the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns to promote the bank’s products, services, and initiatives.
  • Social Media Management: Manage the bank’s social media accounts, including content scheduling, community engagement, and performance analysis. Help build and maintain an online presence that aligns with the bank’s marketing strategy.
  • Internal Communications: Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure effective communication of key internal messages, policies, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of corporate events, seminars, or conferences. Ensure effective communication and promotion of these events through various channels.
  • Crisis Communication: Assist in handling any communications during a crisis or sensitive situation, ensuring the bank’s message is clear, transparent, and timely.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in maintaining communication with key stakeholders, including customers, employees, partners, and the public, to ensure transparency and trust in the bank’s activities.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track media coverage and the effectiveness of communication campaigns, preparing reports and providing recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications / Skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a communications, public relations, or marketing role, preferably within a financial services or corporate environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital content creation tools.
  • Experience with media relations and handling inquiries from journalists.
  • Knowledge of communication strategies and crisis management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Salary

  • N1,500,000 – N2,500,000 annually.
