Job Title: Director, Works and Services

Description 

• The Director, Works and Services, is responsible for managing and maintaining the university’s physical infrastructure, including buildings, roads, utilities, gardens, parks and landscape.
• The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Works and Services Department, ensuring that the university’s physical environment is safe, functional, and conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Works and Services Department.
• Plan, organize, and supervise the maintenance and repair of university buildings, roads, and utilities, gardens, landscape and parks.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of the university’s physical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the university’s physical environment is safe and functional.
• Manage the department’s budget and resources.
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff in the Works and Services Department.

Requirements

• At least a second-class lower honours Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Mechanical, Electrical, Building and Estate Management and Valuation or a related field plus NYSC or Exemption Certificate.
• Aminimum of 12 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field, with at least three (3) years in a senior management position.
• ICT proficiency
• Proven experience in managing physical infrastructure in a tertiary institution.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Conditions of Service

• The successful candidate will be appointed for a single term of four(4) years and entitled to the benefits and allowances approved by the Federal
• Govemment of Nigeria and the Governing Council as the case may be.
