Job Title: Fabrication Manager 

Responsibilities

• Administer, lead supplier weld-Fabrication / quality / manufacturing audits
• Plan, coordinate and implement repairs, modifications and improvements to manufacturing equipment and tooling
• Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Project Management and Engineering to eliminate roadblocks and communication barriers that may effect quality and delivery requirements
• Analyze requirements and make recommendations for facility systems, processes, training, equipment needs, engineering product designs and tooling and fixture for Fabrication
• Oversee the transition of products from internal and external sources to our manufacturing plant including,
• Documentation of products through use of Bills of Materials, Routers, Value stream maps, Flow charts, spreadsheets drawings, videos or digital photos
• Oversee capital equipment and small tooling required for assigned manufacturing or quality area
• Develop and / or improve process automation of existing or new manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with skills in problem-solving, technical drawing, and understanding of metals and their properties
• Minimum 10 years experience as a fabrication engineer in the manufacturing sector
• Ability to troubleshoot a diverse set of fabrication equipment in addition to establishing equipment qualification and preventative maintenance procedures
• Must be able to work with operators to ensure work instructions for processes are accurate and adequate to yield high quality products
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts.
