Job Title: Head, Finance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the Company’s strategic goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the finance team, ensuring they have the skills and resources to perform their roles effectively.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit risk, market risk, and operational risk
  • Communicate financial information clearly and concisely to stakeholders, including management, investors, and other relevant parties.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s budget, forecast future financial performance, and track actual results against budget.
  • Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the Company has sufficient funds to meet its obligations
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring the Company meets its tax obligations.
  • Manage and oversee the financial systems of the Company, ensuring they are efficient and effective.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Prepare regular reports on operational performance and safety metrics.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Master’s degree such as an MBA, Finance, Accounting or a related field is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, CFA, ACCA is compulsory
  • Must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of the industry and financial operations are required.
  • Proven work experience as a Head of Finance, Director of Finance or similar role
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
  • Must have knowledge of financial market, accounting skills, financial modelling skills
  • Must have problem-solving skills and leadership skills Proficiency with excel and multiple data analysis tools 
  • Critical thinking abilities
  • Must be ready to work under pressure
  • Must be analytical and have an eye for details.
