Job Title: Human Resources Officer

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  • Actively participate in the full-cycle recruitment for all office vacancies which includes supporting managers in writing and updating of job descriptions, placing job advertisements, screening and interviewing qualified candidates, conducting references checks and extending employment offers.
  • Support preparation of monthly payroll data for payroll change file in collaboration with Finance department. 
  • Implement and administer the annual and intermittent staff appraisal process- 
  • Support set-up of systems for monitoring staff performance, evaluation, and promotion 
  • Keep records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Support the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Support management training in interviewing, hiring. terminations, promotions, performance review and Staff safety.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Educate and guide employees on available leave options and guidelines.
  • Prepare reports as may be required and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a Human Resources or Social Sciences or any other related discipline.
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the oil industry with a proven track record of accomplishment of HR task and activities.
  • A minimum of 10 years overall experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 
  • High level of analytical and performance management skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and for organizational changes needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness.
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of office management procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Ability to actively discover new ways of doing the job more efficiently.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving skills.
  • Highly dependable and trustworthy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • A team player with leadership skills.
