Job Title: Regional Sales Manager – South East
Job Summary
- The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sales growth and business development within the Eastern Region of Nigeria.
- The RSM will oversee and lead a team of sales representatives, develop strategic sales plans, manage key client relationships, and work closely with marketing and other departments to ensure the region achieves its sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership:
- Lead and manage the sales team within the assigned region.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team to achieve.
- Motivate, coach, and mentor sales representatives to improve performance.
- Monitor team performance, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review sales progress, share best practices, and address challenges.
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with the company’s overall sales objectives.
- Identify potential opportunities for sales growth within the region, including new markets, industries, or customer segments.
- Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for product or service diversification.
- Prepare sales forecasts and budgets for the region, ensuring proper resource allocation.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners in the region.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention by addressing client concerns and providing tailored solutions.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with key clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Coordinate with the customer service department to ensure timely and effective delivery of products or services.
Market Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor competitor activities within the region and suggest strategies to stay competitive.
- Track sales performance, analyze sales data, and prepare regular reports for senior management on regional sales performance.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and feedback to improve sales strategies and product offerings.
Team Development and Recruitment:
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of new sales staff for the region.
- Conduct training sessions to ensure that sales representatives are well-equipped with product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills.
- Foster a positive and productive team culture, focusing on collaboration and professional growth.
Sales Process Optimization:
- Ensure that the sales process is streamlined and efficient, from lead generation to closing sales.
- Work with the sales operations team to improve sales tools, processes, and systems for greater efficiency.
- Implement best practices for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and ensure accurate reporting of sales activities.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Work closely with the marketing department to align sales campaigns with marketing initiatives.
- Coordinate with the supply chain or logistics department to ensure product availability and timely delivery to clients.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing and credit management for clients.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Achievement of regional sales targets and quotas.
- Increase in market share within the region.
- Client acquisition and retention rates.
- Sales team performance, including individual achievements and development.
- Improvement in customer satisfaction and feedback.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the industry, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in managing a regional sales team or territory with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Knowledge of the local market and regional trends.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive results and meet sales targets.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make strategic decisions.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, SENRI, etc).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Certifications: Sales certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Sales Leader – CPSL) are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, often requiring travel within the assigned region.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on client needs or market events.

Salary
N200,000 – N500,000 / Month.
