Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
- An Electrical Engineer is responsible for maintaining electrical devices and testing them for safety and efficiency.
- Their duties include managing the working process for new electrical equipment, using design software to solve faults, troubleshooting, and overseeing the installation process wiring diagrams, P&ID Circuit diagrams in the plant etc.
Responsibilities
- Choose and specify electrical parts, such as cables, lights, and motors.
- Using CAD software, create schematics, diagrams, and layouts for control systems.
- Using software tools like PLC programming, DCS programming, or SCADA systems, develop and put into practice control plans.
- For planned initiatives, carry out cost-benefit evaluations and feasibility studies.
- Ensure that projects are finished on schedule and under budget by working together with project managers, other engineers, and clients.
- Review and approve instrumentation and control system design documents, including specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to clients and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that instrumentation and control systems are designed and installed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field of instrumentation and control systems as well as market trends.
- Visiting clients and working on-site is a common aspect of the work.
- Ability to use computer packages such as excel, MS ward, Power point and Auto cards etc.
- Drafting of maintenance report and daily equipment data reports.
Requirements
- Minimum of National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 0 – 5 years of experience in instrumentation and control system design, analysis, and implementation.
- Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations.
- Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation.
- Ability to supervise technicians.
- Focus and concentration to understand complex electrical systems.
- Self-motivation to keep up with current electrical advances using new technologies.
- Using industry-specific tools to analyze and test electronics.
- Time-management skills for meeting deadlines.
- Experience with control system programming and software tools such as PLC programming, DCS programming, or SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to electrical engineering, such as ISA, IEC, and NEC.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with industrial processes and equipment, such as pumps, motors, and valves, is a plus.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
