Job Title: SBCC and Communication Specialist

Job Summary

  • Under the overall supervision of the Senior Advisor, Nutrition and  Social and behavioural Change and  Communication, the SBCC and communication officer is responsible designing and implementing communication strategies aimed at changing social behaviours within a community, using research-based approaches to develop targeted messaging and materials that promote positive Health practices and address key social issues, while also managing the overall communication channels and public engagement activities for the Organisation.
  • The successful candidate is responsible for planning, filming, editing, and distributing high-quality video content that effectively communicates the CCCRN THRIVE’s mission, Brand, programs, and impact stories. S/He will work closely various thematic and programs unit to capture impactful visuals for branding, awareness campaigns, and reporting purposes.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize video ideas, manage production logistics, ensuring ethical filming practices, and staying updated with video technology to create engaging content aligned with CCCRN THRIVE brand identity.
  • Develop and implement a branding strategy that promotes the THRIVE OVC project’s mission, values, and objectives.
  • S/He will ensure that products and services from vendors meets the CCCRN branding standards.
  • S/He will establish a quality control process on all branded items /services that defines a clear acceptance criterion for deliverables from vendors. When signing contracts with vendors, clearly state the CCCRN  expectations regarding brand adherence and potential penalties for non-compliance.
  • Create communication materials, including brochures, flyers, posters, and social media content, that promote the OVC project’s activities and achievements.
  • Manage the OVC project’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, You-tube, to engage with stakeholders and promote the project’s activities.
  • Develop and maintain the OVC project’s website to provide information on the project’s activities, achievements, and impact.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Take high-quality photographs that capture the OVC project’s activities and impact.
  • S/He must have a Copy/script-writing skills and the ability to adapt style to suit a range of audiences.
  • Good understanding of editing workflows, including trans-coding, ingesting and archiving footage.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Ability to Manage video pre and post-production, scripting, camera work, webcasts, podcasts, and photography.
  • Conduct multimedia training for CCCRN and field staff to enhance their photography, video skills and to ensure that the branding and media guidelines of CCCRN are uniformly and consistently followed.
  • Ensure all audio-visual communication materials are in accordance with CCCRN audio-visual quality and ethical standards (infographics, photos, videos, etc.).
  • Ensure proper archiving of audio-visual productions made in the Organisation to build an “institutional memory.”
  • With guidance from Communication lead, Craft compelling press releases and media pitches highlighting the key messages SBCC campaign, including newsworthy angles, data-driven insights, and calls to action.
  • Initiate contact with journalists and editors, offering exclusive interviews, expert commentary, or access to relevant events related to your SBCC campaign
  • Thorough understanding of online video channels, social media, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches for content creation.
  • Ensure messaging is evidence-based and addresses common myths and misconceptions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or related field
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in producing and editing audio-visual content according to international standards (photos, videos, graphics).
  • Experience with Multimedia equipment and techniques.
  • Expert knowledge, skill and experience of Adobe Creative Cloud suite, in particular Adobe Premier Pro.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Commitment to the aims and values of CCCRN.
