Job Title: Principal Risk Engineer

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Risk Identification & Assessment: Lead the identification and evaluation of technical and operational risks across projects, assets, and operations.
• Risk Mitigation Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective mitigation plans and recommend design or operational changes to reduce risk.
• Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) Studies: Facilitate or lead HAZOPs, risk assessments, LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis), and other process safety reviews.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all risk management practices align with industry standards (e.g., ISO, API, IEC), regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
• Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA): Conduct or oversee QRA, FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis), SIL (Safety Integrity Level) assessments, and consequence modeling.
• Stakeholder Interface: Act as the key interface between project teams, operations, regulators, and third-party consultants on risk-related matters.
• Risk Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present risk registers, reports, and dashboards to management and decision-makers.
• Mentoring & Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building risk engineering competency within the organization.
• Incident Investigation Support: Support or lead technical investigations into incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify lessons learned and incorporate improvements into risk management systems and engineering designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or equivalent 
• 12 years post-graduation experience with at least 8 years in risk management, including exposure to the Oil and Gas industry.
