Job Title: Director, Works and Engineering Services

Duties

• The Director of Works is responsible to the Rector for the overall control of Works and Services Department.
• He provides strategic direction and leadership in the department and ensures that the objectives and targets set by the Rector on the condition of infrastructural facilities of the Polytechnic are met.
• He shall also perform other duties assigned by the Rector.

Requirements

• Applicant must possess good Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Civil, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering with at least Eighteen (18) years post-qualification cognate experience or Master’s Degree plus Fifteen (15) years or Doctorate Degree plus Twelve (12) years post-qualification cognate experience.
• Applicant must have been a Chief Engineer or equivalent on CONTEDISS 14 for at least five (5) years in a Polytechnic or similar Institution of higher learning.
• In addition, applicant must be registered with COREN and possess a current practicing license.

Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service
The appointment is for a single tenure of five (5) years only. Salary and other conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic. The appointee shall enjoy the other benefits of office, as may be approved from time to time by the Federal government.
