Job Title: Store Assistant
Position Summary
- We are seeking experienced Store Assistants to manage inventory operations in our Bulk Emulsion Plant.
- The ideal candidates will have a strong background in handling hazardous materials, engineering supplies, and mining equipment.
- You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, managing documentation, and supporting logistics to enable efficient plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Maintain stock of hazardous chemicals (e.g., Ammonium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrate, Acetic Acid, HSD, Furnace Oil, Wax).
- Track and update inventory for engineering equipment (e.g., pumps, agitators, gearboxes, valves, electrical parts).
- Ensure correct labeling, segregation, and storage per safety guidelines.
Material Handling & Logistics:
- Oversee receipt and inspection of goods, including mechanical and instrumentation items.
- Supervise material dispatch to internal departments and field units.
- Coordinate movement and scheduling of vehicles such as forklifts, delivery trucks, and SINO trucks.
Safety & Compliance:
- Implement safety measures for hazardous chemical storage and equipment handling.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and internal HSE standards.
- Assist with periodic safety audits and mitigate operational risks.
Warehouse Operations:
- Organize store layout for ease of access and optimized stock movement.
- Ensure cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and operational readiness of water plants, boilers, etc.
- Minimize material loss through effective inventory control practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date records of stock levels, receipts, issues, and returns.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory reports for review.
- Log maintenance activities and safety compliance checklists.
Team Support & Training:
- Assist in training junior store staff on safety protocols and material handling.
- Work closely with the Store In-Charge to implement best practices and workflow improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Background:
- Diploma or Degree in Materials Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Hazardous Material Handling or Occupational Safety is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years in inventory or store management in mining, chemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Hands-on experience using inventory management systems (ERP/WMS).
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiar with handling hazardous chemicals and mechanical/instrumentation equipment.
- Basic understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment lifecycle.
- Ability to operate and monitor heavy-duty storage equipment.
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Familiar with ISO standards, HSE protocols, and local environmental regulations.
Core Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory software.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Ability to work under pressure in a safety-critical environment.
