Job Title: Systems Monitoring Officer

Position Overview

• Accountable for the real-time surveillance, performance tracking, and issue detectionacross core IT systems, applications, and network infrastructures.
• This role requires an individual with arobust IT background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the discipline to ensure round-the-clock system health, uptime, and integrity in a fast-paced financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor IT systems, software applications, servers, and network performance using established tools and dashboards.
• Detect and escalate irregularities, performance drops, and system alerts in a timely and structured manner.
• Maintain incident logs, generate reports, and ensure swift resolution of minor IT issues under supervision.
• Conduct basic diagnostics and first-level support for system interruptions before escalation.
• Coordinate with IT Infrastructure and Application Support teams for resolution and preventive actions.
• Track scheduled jobs, backups, and batch processing activities across enterprise platforms.
• Assist in implementing basic IT monitoring scripts or automation tools under the guidance of the IT Team Lead.
• Support compliance with internal IT control frameworks, cybersecurity procedures, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Proactively recommend enhancements to system monitoring protocols based on trend analysis and system behavior.

Minimum Requirements

• B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any IT-related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant IT experience, preferably within a financial, fintech, or technology-driven environment.
• Strong knowledge ofcomputer systems, IT infrastructure, and network environments.
• Proficient in the use of monitoring tools such asZabbix, SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar platforms(training can be provided).
• Ability tointerpret logs, system notifications, and error messages to determine appropriate escalation paths.
• Sound understanding of IT system architecture and how components interact (servers, databases, apps, firewalls, etc.).
• Working knowledge ofMicrosoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux basicsis an added advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the discipline to maintain structured logs and real-time vigilance.

Desirable Attributes:

• Familiarity with ITIL processes, basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell or Bash), or SQL queries.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and respond swiftly to critical system incidents.
• Strong analytical mindset and a passion for proactive IT problem detectionand mitigation.
• Willingness to work in a structured shift pattern or rotation schedule (including nights/weekends when required).

Salary
N200,000 per month (Net).
