Job Title: Sous Chef
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen.
- The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a deep understanding of food preparation, kitchen safety, and high-volume cooking.
- You will play a key role in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising staff.
- Lead the kitchen team in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation to maintain consistency.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed.
- Enforce food hygiene and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and kitchen facilities to ensure functionality and safety.
- Participate in menu planning, cost control, and recipe development.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to promote growth and performance.
- Ensure that food is prepared on time and in accordance with company standards.
- Support in managing kitchen schedules and delegating tasks efficiently.
Requirements
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a professional kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
