Job Title: School Nurse

Job Summary

• Our Client is seeking a compassionate and proactive School Nurse to join its team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and wellbeing of students and staff, administering medical care, and supporting the boarding house with health, hygiene, and personal care duties.
• This is a live-in position, and the successful candidate will reside within the school’s boarding facility.

Scope of Job:

• The Resident School Nurse is in charge of providing timely care and medical services to students and staff. The person has the responsibility of organizing talks, programs and other initiatives to keep the health and safety awareness alive within the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and administer first aid for sudden illness or injury to students and staff in accordance with school policy.
• Administer prescribed medication and maintain accurate health records for all students.
• Promote preventive healthcare through regular health education, hygiene campaigns, and observance of global health days.
• Collaborate with school leadership, staff, parents, and external health professionals to foster a healthy school environment and reduce absenteeism.
• Prepare and submit regular health and safety reports as required by law and school leadership.
• Maintain proper inventory and usage records of medical supplies and ensure the sick bay is well-equipped at all times.
• Support and supervise hostel students, ensuring their personal hygiene, emotional wellbeing, discipline, and compliance with school routines.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the school counselor to ensure holistic care and success of students.

Job Specification

• B.Sc. in Nursing / Public Health or related field.
• Additional certifications in First Aid, CPR, or School Health Nursing are an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a school or pediatric health/ER setting.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exhibit patience, and remain calm under pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to care for adolescents in a structured environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital record management.
• Willingness to live within the school premises and take on hostel responsibilities.
