Job Title: Experienced Production Superintendent – Plastics Manufacturing
Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Production Superintendent with a strong background in plastic manufacturing processes, including injection molding and blow molding.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met, and driving continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of production lines, particularly those involving injection and blow molding machines.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality, minimizing downtime, and optimizing machine efficiency.
- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and work with maintenance teams to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Oversee staffing, training, and development of production personnel; ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to support process improvements and resolve technical issues.
- Track production metrics such as cycle time, scrap rate, and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness); prepare and present regular performance reports.
- Maintain accurate production records, work orders, and shift reports.
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and 5S practices.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or process-related issues.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all shifts.
Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in a supervisory role within a plastic manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding and blow molding equipment and processes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of production planning, manufacturing KPIs, and quality systems (e.g., ISO standards).
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to moderate noise, machinery, and plastic resins.
- Rotating shifts or weekend work may be required based on production demands.
