Job Title: Head, Underwriting

Job Summary

• We are recruiting a highly skilled and experienced Head of Underwriting to lead and manage all underwriting operations in our Lagos office.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or finance, with a deep understanding of risk assessment, claims evaluation, and premium calculations in the financial services sector.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN or CIIA is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in underwriting, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical underwriting concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of local financial regulations and compliance standards.
