Job Title: Accountant

Summary

• We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Accountant with strong auditing experience to manage financial records, ensure compliance with statutory and internal policies, and support regular internal audits.
• The ideal candidate will play a dual role—handling both day-to-day accounting functions and leading or supporting internal audit exercises to ensure financial integrity and risk management.

Responsibilties
Accounting Functions:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile bank statements, receivables, and payables.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Handle payroll, invoicing, petty cash, and expense claims.
• File all relevant statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT) promptly and accurately.
• Monitor fixed assets and update depreciation schedules.
• Support external audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.

Audit & Compliance Functions:

• Plan and execute periodic internal audits of financial and operational processes.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify potential weaknesses or risks.
• Recommend improvements and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Prepare audit findings, reports, and presentations for management.
• Conduct surprise cash counts and inventory spot checks where applicable.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess a BSc Degree with 3 years work experience.
