Job Title: Payment Officer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing schedule for technical and non-technical payments, write cheques and follow-up for signing, process direct credit payments on Diamond PAY and TT instruction within 24 hrs.
• Responsible for sending advice (via mail or telephone) to payment beneficiaries after making payment.
• Responsible for collating all payments made and sending same by mail to the MD by 5pm daily.
• Responsible for filing serially and promptly all documents upon which payments have been made to avoid double payment and for easy retrieval.
• Responsible for handling complaints and queries from both internal and external clients within set timelines.
• Responsible for monitoring and posting of petty cash into the ledger, for the head office and branches.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in a similar role preferably in an insurance firm.
• A professional qualification of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL.
