Job Title: Senior Buyer / Technical Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services in accordance with company policies and project specifications.
• Prepare RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate terms with suppliers.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation and records in ERP systems.
• Review and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings, and BOQs.
• Ensure purchased items meet required technical standards and project specifications.
• Liaise with engineering, QA/QC, and project teams to validate material compliance.
• Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved vendors and contractors.
• Conduct regular market analysis and identify alternative sources for strategic items.
• Support vendor pre-qualification and periodic performance reviews.
• Technical aptitude with an understanding of engineering materials and equipment.
• Track and report procurement status, cost savings, and delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in technical procurement or buying roles, preferably in Oil & Gas, Construction, or EPC sectors.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain best practices.
• Proficient in ERP systems.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with international standards and technical specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
