Job Title: Cake Decorator
Job Summary
- The Fondant & Butter Cake Decorator will be responsible for creating visually appealing and high-quality cake designs using fondant, buttercream, and other decorative techniques.
- This role ensures that all cakes meet the brand’s quality standards, design specifications, and customer expectations for special occasions and regular sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and decorate cakes using fondant, buttercream, royal icing, and other decorative mediums.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
- Accurately interpret cake design specifications from customers, including themes, colors, and styles.
- Ensure cakes are decorated according to the brand’s quality standards and in line with food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, tools, and decorating equipment.
- Assist in baking cake bases when required.
- Manage stock levels for decorating supplies and report shortages promptly.
- Keep up to date with current cake trends, techniques, and designs.
- Handle customer design requests with professionalism and creativity.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of cakes to preserve freshness and presentation quality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- SSCE / OND or equivalent qualification; additional certification in cake decoration or pastry arts is an advantage.
- Proven experience in fondant and buttercream cake decoration.
- Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail.
- Knowledge of baking fundamentals and cake preparation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards.
