OVERVIEW:

The FHI 360 Global Connections department engages with a diversity of institutions and individuals in the United States and around the world to strengthen professional, cultural, youth and academic exchanges, civil engagement, and educational/training linkages. A growing area of work includes virtual trainings that focus on professional and institutional development in a broad range of technical areas.

The Civic Engagement projects, which currently focus primarily on persons with disabilities and labor rights for nurses, provide trainings and civil society capacity building activities for stakeholders in the MENA and/or SCA regions. The current funder is the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor; however, these projects may also receive funding from other funders/sources. We are seeking applications for a Technical Officer I to lead participant communication and engagement for the programs’ virtual trainings and workshops and provide technical support for the programs’ capacity building work.

This position is contingent upon funder vetting approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

• Lead Virtual Training Participant Communication and Engagement: Lead communication with participants of the programs’ virtual trainings and workshops; and implement outreach strategies to ensure continued engagement with program participants and beneficiaries.
• Support the Programs’ Capacity Building Work: Provide a wide range of technical support for the programs’ virtual trainings and workshops as well as advocacy campaigns.
• General Program Support: Ensure all recorded/tracked data is accurate and meets programs’ monitoring and reporting needs; write client report sections, as requested; and provide monthly or quarterly social media analytics report for planning and ongoing goal analysis/monitoring.
• Collaboration/Communication: Maintain professional standard of communication with
  colleagues, consultants, and beneficiaries; and ensure work style contributes to teambuilding
  and a professional environment where colleagues can work together productively; and
• Business Development: Participate in business development opportunities, as necessary.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in International Relations, Communication, Education, Social Sciences, International Development or related filed;
• Typically requires 2-5 years of relevant experience;
• Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and
  staff;
• Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English;
• Reading and writing functionality in Persian, Tajik or Dari; and
• Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Demonstrated understanding of MENA and/or SCA regions’ cultures preferred; and
• Knowledge of and experience working on PWD rights/issues and/or labor rights.
