Job Title: Brand Communications Manager

Location: Lagos

About the Job

  • We are offering an exciting opportunity as a Brands Communications Manager who will support brand teams across portfolios and help in developing world class creative assets across traditional and digital channels. 
  • He or she is an amazing storyteller, with an eye for creativity and is a connoisseur of pop culture. 
  • He / she will play a role in shaping a new agenda for communication excellence and embed a new IMC framework within the Company 
  • The Brand Communications Manager is an excellent communicator, with appreciable experience working with creative agencies, PR agencies, and in brand management. 
  • He or she can take ownership for content development and understands the end-to-end process of developing content from conception to execution and production, as well as authoring case studies in collaboration with brand teams where required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Takes responsibility for developing through the line marketing communications campaigns for brands across allotted portfolios and brands
  • Works closely with brand teams and creative agencies in concept development, ideation, and communication strategy alignment with broader commercial objectives of the company
  • Regularly shares case studies, and supports the Head of Comms and Marketing Capabilities in designing and deploying capability building programmes for the marketing team 
  • Collaborates with the media, strategy, and planning teams to provide monthly and quarterly competitive reviews on brands within the category, while also looking beyond beverages to inspire the marketing team 
  • Has full operational responsibility for supervising, aligning and approving tactical campaigns, while ensuring and embedding creativity as a core capability within the organisation

Requirements
Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2nd Class upper or 2nd Class lower with a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences.
  • A Masters’ degree in any of the following will be an added advantage (Marketing, Marketing Communications, Media and Communications, Mass Communications or an MBA with a marketing specialization) 
  • APCON or NIMN certification is also an added advantage. 

Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years post NYSC experience working in roles related to brand management, marketing communications and copywriting. 
  • Experience in developing award winning campaigns, preferably experience as a copywriter or account planner.
  • Work experience in a creative agency is an added advantage
  • Sound knowledge of regulatory environment in advertising 
  • An analytical mindset, with strong presentation skills and an ability to clearly articulate and present ideas.
