Women in the New Nigeria (WINN) is a leading women-led and women’s rights non-governmental organization established in 2010 and legally incorporated in 2013, that focuses on women’s empowerment and enhancing the lives of youths. WINN has presence in 17 states in Nigeria, including FCT Abuja, and an international presence in eight (8) countries: North America (WINNA), WIN Ghana, WIN Mozambique, WIN South Africa, WIN Sierra Leone, WIN World UK, WIN Niger, WIN Cameroun.

We ensure that the structures and systems with which women, girls, and people with disabilities interact on a daily basis, such as safe spaces, health facilities, education, legal services, and community engagement activities, to name but a few, are accessible and conducive to the empowerment and support of all stakeholders through our programs.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Case Management Supervisor

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Duration: 22 Months

General Position Summary

  • Gender-based Violence (GBV) Case Management Supervisor will provide technical support directly to the GBV case workers . She will build staff capacity (Case Workers) to provide quality case management services to women and girls survivors of GBV, and mentor and coach team and ensure that case management processes and systems are strengthened and implemented according to international standards of best practice.
  • The successful candidate will conduct case file audit, supervise caseworkers and conduct case review meeting with caseworkers and provide capacity building give input on awareness raising topic based on the reported trends.
  • In addition, she will oversee the implementation of all response activities at the community level and serve as liaisons between WINN and the community.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Program Management:

  • Ensure case management and psychosocial interventions adhere to international best-practice standards and guiding principles when working with women and girl survivors of GBV.
  • Ensure that quality case management systems and processes are in place (including assessment, planning, referral, monitoring, data management and supervision for case workers) for timely and quality GBV case management response in the locations where WINN works.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and partners, including psychosocial and awareness-raising on GBV prevention and response.
  • Participate in regular staff and partner coordination meetings.
  • Support partners in setting up a safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and survivor-centred structure for GBV response in locations.
  • Conduct monthly monitoring to locations to ensure GBV Case management protocols are followed.
  • Work with partners in building networks for smooth referrals and comprehensive service provision. Conduct service mapping on available services in field of operation and disseminate to ensure linkages.
  • Ensure WINN’s representation and visibility in relevant field location.
  • Ensure information sharing with partners, GBV cluster and relevant working groups as requested by line manager.
  • Ensures the centrality of protection, GBV mainstreaming in all activities of his/her project location.

Staff Capacity Development:

  • In collaboration with the Senior Protection Officer, identify training needs for the Case Workers, and lead in career development and facilitation of trainings. Provide technical support , regular coaching sessions, mentoring to meet needs and strengthen case management skills while utilizing highly practical techniques.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their duties.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly timesheets, probations reviews and annual performance reviews.

Systems and Processes:

  • Ensure adherence to case management guidelines and best practice, developing and rolling out GBV case management processes (service mapping, protocols, referral pathways, etc.) where necessary.
  • Support implementation and ensure adherence to project work plans, and monitoring and evaluation plans relating to case management.
  • Adhere to WINN’s PSEA policy and Safeguarding policy with utmost priority.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Provide technical guidance and support for the implementation of quality case management reporting and monitoring systems (including the GBVIMS) and share trends analysis internally with line manager.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans, updates, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all relevant financial documentation is accurately completed and submitted, in line with WINN policies and procedures.
  • Support the collection of information needed for M&E activities.
  • Ensure regular field visits and meetings with Case Workers.

Coordination, Communication & Relationship Building:

  • Build strong relationships with services providers and key stakeholder to support the team to develop their referral pathways, service mapping and for collaboration on capacity development opportunities
  • Provide feedback through regular communication with the Program Manager (PM), Senior Protection Officer (SPO) and other relevant stakeholders on progress made on case management activities, and ensure challenges arising are being discussed and addressed in a timely manner, and to ensure the essential case management needs are being prioritized and responded to in wider project planning and review.

Finance & Compliance Management:

  • Ensure compliance with donor and WINN regulations related to emergency programming.
  • Ensure case management fund is utilized effectively

Influence & Representation:

  • Identify, build, and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, local governments, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met.

Security:

  • Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as determined by organizations leadership.
  • Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

Organizational Learning:

  • Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and WINN’s policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.

  • Works Directly with: Finance, Program, MEAL, and Operation Teams, partner staff

Knowledge and Experience

  • B.A / B.Sc. Degree in Social science, Law or Arts is required.
  • Work experience (at least 3 years) in GBV case management.
  • Experience in GBVIMS and case management
  • Demonstrated strengths in analytical skills, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing
  • Strong interpersonal, intercultural and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written skills.
  • Experience in GBV programming, and demonstrated gender sensitivity;
  • Experience in emergencies and conflict areas strongly preferred
  • Relevant regional experience strongly preferred.
  • Extremely flexible, and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent decision-making skills and pay attention to details.
  • Proficient in computer applications, especially with MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Extensive experience mobilizing, working with, and leading community groups focused on gender-based violence prevention and response required;
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively convey complex concepts to populations with limited numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines..
  • Leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills;
  • Strong inter-personal and team player with work skills including the ability to manage liaise and communicate with team members;
  • Demonstrated capacity to take initiative and pay attention to details;
  • Ability to plan workloads and demonstrate accountability for outputs;
  • Fluency in English and Hausa is required.
