Job Title: Consultant – Resilience Assessment for USAID Feed the Future Nigeria Rural Resilience Activity

Locations: Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Kebbi and Yobe

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree / PhDs / Doctorates qualification.
  • Knowledge of the Northeastern Nigerian context
  • Previous experience in market systems/private sector research as well as household data collection related to economic development and food security
  • Previous experience working in fluid, conflict-affected environments
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Proficient English language skills are essential.

  • Technical Proposal: Technical proposals must demonstrate the applicant’s understanding of the terms of reference by providing detailed information and interpretation of the assignment objectives and all requirements using feasible methods and approaches. Moreover, the technical proposal must cover the following but not be limited to:
  • Brief about the applicant’s (firm’s) profile, experience, and capabilities (not more than 1 page).
  • Examples of former relevant work conducted by the applicant (two examples to be attached) with a brief summary on each example (1/4 page for each).
  • Resumes of all team members who will be part of the assignment as mentioned in the Technical Proposal.
  • Clear identification of the roles of the team members who will be part of the assignment (not more than 1/2 page).
  • Detailed Methodology and approaches for conducting data, including the following:
    • Proposed sampling approach for both data collection components (not more than ½ page)
    • Enumerator training approach and schedule, with training expected to last at least 2 days and include additional time for live testing of enumerators’ ability to apply instruments in practice (not more than ½ page)
    • Data quality assurance protocols (not more than ½ page)
  • Detailed action plan with specific tasks and estimated level of effort (not more than 1 pages).
  • Copy of relevant legal registration documents (license, commercial register, etc.
  • Financial Proposal: must be submitted in a separate and closed envelope/file.
  • Applicants must provide details of the financial offer by describing the costs for each activity tackled under the proposed action plan.
  • Offers will be evaluated against the MC’s cost-effectiveness and efficiency standards.
  • References: Two referees from organizations that the applicant has previous experience with on relevant projects. Applicant must include in the contact information, the name, email, phone number, and address of the referee.
