TITLE: Product Owner: Global Fundraising BI Platform

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Global Fundraising Hub in the Resource Mobilisation Communication & Engagement Department

LOCATION: London or any existing SCI location

GRADE: B: Mid – Senior Level

ROLE PURPOSE:

We are looking for a strong Product Owner for our Global Business Intelligence (BI) Data Warehouse project. The Data Warehouse (Azure) will act as centralised repository for the CRM data from each of Save the Children’s 28 member offices around the world and will be the source for a suite of shared service reporting (power BI) used to facilitate fundraising investment decisions. Beyond the CRM data will then look to explore the integrations of data sources from other areas of the business creating one true home for all our data.

As the Product Owner you will be responsible for setting, prioritizing, overseeing and evaluating the work generated by our internal BI team in order to ensure impeccable features and functionality of the product.


The Product Owner will:

· Define product vision, road-map and ensure alignment with STC strategic objectives

· Research technologies and work with the BI developers to define the technological architecture

· Manage internal customer engagements and pitch for growth into new members offices

· Define and manage the on boarding process of new member offices into the system

· Manage and prioritise internal customer requirements into a backlog

· Define KPIs to be adopted by the system

· Work with the Project Lead, colleagues and Members offices to build report designs

· Attend scrum meetings with developer resource and oversee sprint deliverables

· Ensure that the BI team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on

· Manage progress updates to internal and external stakeholders

· Become an expert on STC fundraising methods and analysing marketing results

· Explore the integration of other data sources (Google Analytics, Finance, Social Listening etc..) into the data warehouse

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside of the normal job description and be able to vary work hours accordingly.

Budget Responsibilities: Responsible for management and reporting of the project budget ensuring the spend remains within the agreed funding parameters

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential Skills & Experience

Previous working experience as a Product Owner for 5+ years

University degree (ideally in Computer Science, Engineering or Business) or other relevant professional qualification or experience

Passion for data and highly developed analytical skills

In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles

Experience with Benchmarking

Technical curiosity to drive continual platform evolution

Proven experience of delivering projects on time and to budget

Outstanding communication, organisational, presentation and leadership skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Creative thinker with a vision

Meticulous attention to detail

Fluent in English

Mandatory Technical Expertise

Experience building data models, designing reports and distributing dashboards in Power BI or any other Business Intelligence tools used in the sector

Expert with Microsoft Project/Trello or any other recognised project management software solution

Have worked on projects that utilise cloud based computing (Azure or similar)

Desired Skills and Experience

Previous experience working in an International Non-Governmental Organisation

Understanding of marketing/fundraising techniques and KPIs, with a particular focus on Individual Giving

Exposure to at least one fundraising CRM system and knowledge of the data table architecture

We can offer circa £57,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International Regional or Country office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
