Job Title: Senior Manager, OVC Services

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as organizational OVC POC.
  • Facilitate the scale of the family matters program. *Lead the OVC program integration with PMTCT and Pediatrics interventions to maximize impact.
  • Coordinated the implementation of OVC program activities and documentation through Community Based Organizations (CBOs), Education, health, Psychosocial support.
  • Design and coordinate the implementation of OVC program activities in line with national guidelines.
  • Interface with, GON, USG, and CBO programs to facilitate synergies and initiatives to improve the package of care and support services.
  • Ensure the organization meets the established OVC program goals and objectives and planned outputs and outcomes, and that these results are documented.
  • Ensure that the organization continues to build programs on vulnerable childrenbased on strategic analysis of the Nigerian context.
  • Continue to promote the organization practice of sound program analysis in the area of programming for vulnerable children.
  • Develop/ review training curriculum on HIV care and support for training CBOs and care givers of vulnerable children.
  • Review and update training curriculum regularly as necessary in line with FOMWAD National training curriculum on vulnerable children in Nigeria.
  • Design and administer trainings around organizational development and oversee ongoing capacity building interventions.
  • Participate in national capacity building and systems strengthening initiatives intended to promote local ownership and contribute to the sustainability of OVC programming.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First Degree, Master’s of Public Health as an added advantage.
  • In addition, the post holder must possess at least 14 years’ post NYSC experience in running/implementing public health programs preferably in the NGO context. With at least 8 of those years in management level.
  • At least 5 years working knowledge of the PEPFAR/CDC and national OVC priorities in Nigeria.
  • An in depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to vulnerable populations.
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Commitment to and understanding of the organization ’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
  • Proven track record/abilities to manage large-scale, cross-functional business process improvement strategies, plans, activities and teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as evidenced through previous work experience and results achieved; capable of effective and efficient development, management and tracking of large-scale projects.
  • Superior partnering skills, exceptionally strong and highly effective working relationships with internal & external partners/stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership skills; can manage larger-scale teams, develop individual skills and abilities, while driving teams to meet or exceed targets & goals.
  • Willingness to commit the next 5 years to the origination in this position will be an added advantage.
  • History of loyalty and trust with proven integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
